Yes!
Yes. It's best to make reservations.
For me, this is anniversary dinner prices. It's expensive, but you get what your pay for. The food is very good, but you are also paying for the ambiance. It's a beautiful atmosphere.
No, but I'd say business casual is the right level
I'm not sure. I know they serve brunch on the weekend.
One of the better Italian establishment in Kansas City, the quality of ingredients and preparation is hands down one of the best, paired with great and personable servers which make any occasion feel special
It's just not my cup of tea. Others I go with seem to like it, but it's not for me. Their pasta is nothing to write home about, and their flavors are always off to me.
Unlimited Pasta trio was really good! Yummy homemade pasta. They serve delicious focaccia and hummus before meal. So good. Service excellent....forgot her name. Prices for lunch were reasonable, and they were welcoming of my kids.
Went for brunch on sat had the three pasta sampler the soup, and all the pastas were very salty the breads and desserts were very good as always. The tiramisu and coffee were worth the trip. And the service was impeccable.
Always enjoyable to be in the freight house. The food was delicious with generous portions. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Good food, smaller portions but tasty
The food was amazing, the service was great, wine was delicious. The meatballs were second to none and the duck was superb. And the space is just very comfy and romantic. Not to mention the GORGEOUS blown glass chandelier’s! Will definitely be back in the future it was absolutely perfect for date night.
We ate here the first night they were open after the COVID19 shut down. They handled social distancing very well and all staff wore masks. The food was excellent! We enjoyed the lasagna and the Brasato (short rib) and the Panna cotta for dessert. Everything was excellent and the house wine was very good.
Your food was delicious! Thank you for completing my birthday night. Also thank you for taking good care of me and my husband with your wonderful customer service! You guys are awesome.
This is just a wonderful restaurant. The food is terrific but the staff is over and above good. They treat us like we matter.
We have been in love with Lidia's since our first visit in 1998. The pasta trio is always a great choice, but their entire menu is outstanding. The secret treasure, though, is the ice cream trio on the dessert menu.
Loved loved loved this restaurant. The food was top notch. Service was impeccable. Would love to go back. Hopefully next time we are visiting.
Lidia's is a culinary staple of Kansas City. If you live in or around Kansas City and have not eaten here make a reservation right now. If you ever visit Kansas City MO eat here at least once, if not more, during your visit. The pasta is freshly made, delicious, and carb heaven. Seriously, I have tried just about everything the on the menu. There isn't a single thing I wouldn't recommend. If you are a Caesar salad person, Lidia's has the best I have ever stabbed with a fork. Inside is gorgeous producing a welcoming atmosphere. There is beautiful outdoor seating when the weather is nice.
Great Meal and Service. Thank you Jeremy for your hospitality. Thank you Rachel K for your great service!
This was our second time there. It's a nice place, good food, and reasonable service.
I celebrated my nomination yesterday in this great restaurant. happy to tell that we enjoyed a incredible evening and the restaurant was indeed one of the reasons for this fruitful meeting. The team participated in a graceful manner, the cuisine was great and my guests were extremely cheerful. We shall definitely visit again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
We came for a birthday and had a wonderful dinner. The service was great and the food was even better. Would recommend this place for a date night or a special occasion. We look forward to our return visit.
over priced and over thought. Stay away from the trip! Half our party ordered it. Hardly anyone could tolerate it. Waste of money.
What a disappointment. Cannot even get a reply to my email. My children paid $50 per person for a surprise birthday party for me that was disappointing in every way. Overpriced, overdone, sloppy pasta dishes slopped onto our plates.Only one person ate their food of all of us. In fact, one person ate NOTHING because they would not allow him to order what he wanted. The person who set up the the reservation did not allow a choice that would have been acceptable. There was a big to do over signing a contract. The food was poor quality. The staff was not helpful. We were still hungry when we left. Won't be back.
Every time I go to Lidia's it is an outstanding experience. Everything is taken into account by the staff. The welcoming atmosphere is complimented by impeccable service, and I've never had a food or beverage item that didn't wow me. For our most recent visit, we sat on the patio. Our server was attentive and friendly and offered a great recommendation for a sparkling rose. The pasta trio never fails to impress: just thinking about it makes me want to go back soon. If you have the means to treat yo self, then go to here.
The food & atmosphere were fantastic! The Sunday brunch is not on the website, however you should give it a try. We tasted each others dishes, so I was able to try several and they all were great. I had the Sunday sauce, which is not on the menu either, but I highly recommend it. I will have it again!
Loved the Trio someone suggested it. We were not disappointed. Keep it going.
It was a corporate event , so our seating was set in one separate room where we could make all the noise. I tried the salmon and it was amazing. People also ordered pasta trio and called for multiple helping. No one had an issue. The wine recommendation ( photo attached) was nice , went with the food and we continued post that also
We were a party of 9, dining at Lidia’s for a special occasion. We were seated immediately. The food and service were exceptional and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
We drove 2.5 hours to get to Lidia's for my birthday. It was a very worth while trip i will make again. We did Saturday brunch and everything was delicious! If you haven't been you should definitely go
Fantastic meal and cocktails. Happy that they are open again for business!
Was the butternut squash gnocchi good? No, it was great! I've gotten it every time and I'm never disappointed. Take a look at the chandeliers when you're in there, they're on the ceiling.
My favorite pasta in KC! The Tasting Trio is always a good bet but I've enjoyed everything I've tried here. Beautiful setting and ambiance. Impeccable service.

People also ordered pasta trio and called for multiple helping. No one had an issue. The wine recommendation ( photo attached) was nice , went with the food and we continued post that also. Very popular Italian restaurant owned by a NYC based celebrity chef. Nice ambiance. Service seemed a little sterile and rushed. I really enjoyed the 3 pasta sampler. Great wine although it was pricey. )20 for a glass Even though the entire bottle retails for less than that. I would go back though.
Went here for a holiday luncheon with a group of coworkers. A manager was paying for the meal, and I was excited because I'd only ever thought of Lidia's as way too out of my price range. The lunch menu was surprisingly affordable for the quality of food, and the atmosphere was so cozy and warm for a winter's afternoon. I had the shrimp scampi with spaghetti squash and it was phenomenal. So rich, luxurious, and the perfect portion size. Cappuccino could've been a little stronger, but overall was lovely. Looking forward to going back with my husband for a date night.
We ventured out and took an elderly family member to their favorite restaurant (Lidia’s 😎). The staff accommodated our request to be secluded and safely distanced. This meant a lot! We had an awesome dinner and great service. The pasta tasting featured a Spaghetti Bolognese that was simply delicious! Thanks again to Lidias staff for a special dinner.
This was my second visit to Lidia’s, and while the food was good both times, it did not meet my expectations for the price. Wait staff is always fantastic, the gentleman at the host stand looks like he needs a vacation. While we were dining, a large bag of some kind crawled up the wall behind me. I alerted our server who brought the manager over (Same guy from the host stand) Told me he misunderstood as he thought I had seen a mouse. He then explained that they have mice on occasion because it is an old building. I’m not sure exactly what I expected to happen, but it definitely was not that.
We went for the Sunday brunch. It was delicious! There was a buffet style antipasti bar with salads, breads, soups, etc. Our waitress recommended we pace ourselves to really enjoy the food and not get too full too quickly. After the antipasti bar we ordered our entrees of the eggplant Parmesan and the unlimited pasta trio. They were both fantastic! Our favorite was the ravioli. There is also a dessert table filled with mini cakes, tiramisu, scones and trifles. The price for the brunch is one lump sum so everything listed above was included. It is great place to go for a special occasion or fancier date night.
I've eaten here twice and had tried many different pasta dishes. Was disappointed both times as all the pasta dishes I tried were extremely bland. Service and atmosphere was good, but I would not recommend paying that much for tasteless pasta dishes.
Food and service are wonderful. Very pleasant atmosphere. Love this place.
Love the ambiance. The first time I ate there, the food was so good I wanted to cry. The last time was good, but not as amazing. Still worth going though.
5 star atmosphere, wait staff, and attention. I had the lasagna. The layers of pasta got lost in the cheese/sauce. I'd give it a 3+. My wife had the short ribs and mashed potatoes. A definite 5+. Our wine was a Lidia's home grown, La Mozza Cabernet, was more than excellent. One of my favorite KC restaurants. We'll be back.
The menu has a lot of variety and the food is consistently good across the board. The atmosphere is wonderful. We went with a party of 8 and everyone was happy. Our service was great even with every table in the restaurant full. We recommend!
I give 2 stars for the service only. Our waitress was fantastic. The food was honestly horrible... I am an Italian/Sicilian woman. I have been craving a homemade Italian meal outside of my own cooking. This meal tasted like Ragu sauce drenched in olive oil. I’ve been looking forward to eating here since I was little girl (hence the same name). I am very disappointed, will not recommend or return.
Visited here for our anniversary dinner. Service and food was fantastic, will definitely be back. They even brought us a special dessert for our anniversary - on the house.
Their website said they had vegan food. They didn't really have options besides a salad and offered a vegan pasta. It was flavorless.
Went for lunch at Lydia’s. My husband likes the Cabbage rolls and ordered them for lunch. I went with the house made gnocchi. For a long time, Lidia’s has been our ‘go to’ restaurant to take clients and visiting friends to... Sadly the experience we had was not the best. Our server was friendly but not very efficient. The entrees seemed to be under seasoned and needed salt. Since there was no salt provided on the table and our server did not check back after delivering our entrees, we were left to muddle through it... We have been countless times with everything being excellent. It’s a Nice urban industrial atmosphere at Lidia’s as well.
Good food. Good service. Maybe a tad pricey but worth it.
We had a birthday party of 16, with one child that was 3. We had a pre chosen menu that was very limited. (And yes in their defense, it was chosen by one of the people in the group). BUT, even though we paid almost 900.00 for our group, they would not allow any substitutes from the prechosen menu, even for the child. We had several people that did not find anything that they either could or would eat, but still no exceptions were made. The cost was the same if you ate or not! The food that was eaten was very mediocre at best. The server was good and the atmosphere was very pleasant. But if you want to spend 50.00 a piece for less than good food, then this might be your place!! And just for reference, we just went to Italy in November, and this is definitely not a representation of good Italian food.
Seated quickly and service was great. We had two small children. Several staff told us they enjoyed the children and Lidia promotes children at her restaurants. We ordered the pasta tasting platter. It included unlimited salad, unlimited daily pastas and a desert choice. The salad, desert and the cheese ravioli with a pesto type sauce were fantastic. The other two red sauced pasta were very similar and we did not care for those. The only reason for the four stars is the two red pastas-maybe include a different sauce option instead of two of the same type. Overall pleasant experience.
As always Lidia's never disappoints. Yes it is expensive but it is well worth the price. Everything is perfect. Would definitely opt for the 3 course dinner. Salad, unlimited pasta, and a dessert.
We made the mistake of showing up here in the midst of Restaurant Week in KC without reservations so our wait for a table was long. Fortunately the staff, food and drinks at the bar made the wait bearable. When we were seated the wait was well rewarded. Our server was excellent, the meal was pleasant and the wine list was substantial and varied. All in all a very pleasant evening. It is just a short walk back through Union Station to re-board the street car for the ride back to our hotel
Peter C. was beyond courteous & kind. We came here for Brunch for my best friend’s 29th Birthday. He is an attentive waiter! He even offered to cut up some apples&grapes for me since I am allergic to pineapple - I should have taken him up on it lol. Just him saying he would do some special so I could enjoy the fruit too was beyond what most servers do. Great service! Thank you!!!
Our server was having a rough day. Other than that, fantastic. The lemon sorbetto was true lemon. I can eat anything sour and not be effected but this stuff got me..... And I loved it. The chefs special was amazing. We loved it. The short ribs were great, salmon was good. A friend recommended that we Had to try Lidia's and she was so right!
Fantastic food and very fun environment. The place can get a bit crowded, but that just shows how popular the restaurant is. Perfect for anniversaries or any other special occasion dinner.
